Wallace McDowall Ltd are specialists in the design and manufacture of bespoke metal components, providing subcontracted precision cutting, machining, welding, powder coating and assembly services to deliver complex projects and components for clients in the Yellow Goods, Rail, Transport, and general manufacturing sectors.

The company is well-known as a reliable complete service provider with a high level of technical competency and extensively developed in-house facilities, which has enabled it to build up strong, long-standing client relationships and earn an excellent reputation within the market sectors it operates in.

The company has invested extensively in the development of state-of-the-art facilities. Operating nationally, the company provides components and services for clients across a diverse range of sectors and currently works with an extensive portfolio of active customers, all of whom provide reliable, repeat business, with several relationships spanning over 15 years.

Due to the success of new ownership and a new management team the business has flourished and now requires a Business Development Manager for North England to meet its extensive growth strategy.

The business operates from premises in Prestwick. It has a strong pipeline of firm and forecast orders spanning several years and a steady stream of inbound enquiries from new and returning clients being received on a regular basis.

The business currently has a profitable turnover of circa £15m and has ambitious expansion plans in place along with a considerable investment schedule.

 

The Candidate

The ideal candidate would be an experienced New Business Development Manager with a background in metal fabrications/components or similar industry, working in a fast paced, technical environment.

The Successful Candidate must have:

  • Experience of delivering growth through new and old customer relationships
  • Proven track record of sales
  • Track record of successfully managing clients and closing orders
  • Strong people management skills
  • Ability to deliver accurately to tight deadlines.
  • Technically competent
  • Resilient and flexible
